BIOGRAPHY:
One of our outstanding goldsmiths, Mr. Gerald
Sundean comes to us from Edinboro via Colorado. Upon joining our
organization in the late fall of 1998, he immediately fit into our RMJ
family. He comes to us after nine years in Colorado with outstanding,
well-honed abilities of many facets: expert stone carver and sculptor,
iron worker, blacksmith, metal fabricator and a perfectionist as a master
goldsmith and silversmith -- a really true artist.
He has helped us constantly in keeping up with our many RMJ weekly
custom-designed projects and on many restoration projects of our associates,
RMJ Restorations,
such as the Battles Museum fountain in Girard,
the USPS wood sculpture in Union City,
the USPS wall relief in North East,
and most recently, the roof sculpture for the Battles Mansion in Girard.
He's truly an all-American boy, born July 4, 1966. A 1984 graduate of General
McLane High School in Edinboro, PA, he earned a gunsmith certificate
from the Jr. College of Colorado, with apprenticeships at Bowman/Jones
Jewelers in Dillon, Colorado, Excaliber Blacksmithing of Gypsum, CO,
and Perry Stone Carvings in Colorado.
He's a fun-loving, personable, carefree outdoorsman, a skilled prospector,
skier, hiker, cyclist, and naturalist. He especially loves those high ski
slopes of the Rockies, fun jokes, and those Japanese sci-fi black and white
movies of the late 60's and 70's. An avid reader of art books, he's
interested in historic methods of working with metals and stone, as well
as medieval armor and weaponry.
We are extremely proud and honored to have him as part of our RMJ family
of associates, helping us to earn the Erie region's first place People's
Choice Jewelers award for 2001.
