Carnelian. It is the yellow-orange to red-orange
variety of quartz that can vary in transparency.
Legend holds that the wearer will have good luck,
happiness, contentment, and avoid all forms of envy.
It is historically used in some Middle Eastern
countries as a wearable good luck charm. Verses from the
Koran are often carved in this gem.
